THE LEGEND

Beginning of my new year was with "Epiphany". Ghalib's poetry was sensitively and wonderfully brought out in the most soulful voice of Jagjit Singh. I grew up listening to him. He was one on my favorite. I just read online that hes now more i'm quite devastated. His Ghazal's touch my heart make me realize the real meaning of life. May his soul rest in peace.  You are truly a LEGEND.

Life is just a party and parties weren’t meant to last

Everyday we meet people, we greet people. However, few makes special place in your heart and to those few its difficult to say goodbye. I always hated farewells maybe because its was my family n friends. but what I realized yesterday was, people whom i met three days ago will make special place in my heart. I dint fancy that when i was with them. After many hugs it was time to go. Soon I sensed my eyes are full of tears. The show which started with grandeur is concluded. The hardest part of the show is saying goodbye when it's all done.

With all these beautiful memories captured. I can say that Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.

"All men are created equal"

The moment child Gobind Rai was born in Patna, Pir Bhikhan Shah of Thaska offered his prayers facing East instead of towards the West contrary to his daily practice. He left for Patna immediately. On arrival at (Guru's) residence, Pir placed two bowls of milk and water before the divine child. The new-born Divine Being put his hands on both the bowls thus signifying the entire humanity springs from the same divine fountain: How can some be good and others evil

Awal Allah noor upaya
Kudrat ke sab bandey
Ek noor te sab jag upjaya
Kaun bhale ko mande.

'First of all, God created light; Mother Nature created all human
beings equal; from that one Light the entire world came into being;
so how do we differentiate that one is better that the other?'

Punjabi Sikho - Parho, Likho, Bolo

I believe that preserving languages of the world is a worthy task, that would both preserve culture and heritage of people all across the earth.

Punjabi is losing the race to English and other foreign languages. Why??? Is it cosmopolitan surroundings, Multiculturalism or we are just less appreciative of what we have. There is nothing wrong with learning English and other foreign languages. but to relinquish your 'mother tongue' is. If not the language, definitely we are losing the essence of it. The idioms, proverbs, words for appreciation and gratitude, sting of sarcasm and verses of romance and eventually we gonna lose it all. Above all now We have Gutkas with English translations.

I'm a Glossophilic(Wikipedia defines glossophilia as a love of language, be it foreign or mother tongue. The term refers to people with a deep and passionate love for language.). I believe Language is the only way to retain a culture. It is through language that we develop our thoughts, explore our customs, articulate our values and lessen the cultural conflicts between generations. If we are too quick to abandon our mother tongue, what other values we would be interested to keep.

Punjabi gives me sense of belonging to my roots, rich culture and colourful customs and traditions. we should take initiative to teach or learn Punjabi on our own, either through University courses or scads of online courses.

"Few things are there to keep. Mother tongue is one of them".

Ek brahmann ne kahaa hai ke ye saal achchha hai
Ek brahmann ne kahaa hai ke ye saal achchha hai

zulm kii raat bahut jald Talegii ab to
aag chuulhon men har ik roz jalegii ab to

bhuuk ke maare koii bachchaa nahiin royegaa
chain kii niind har ik shakhs yahaan soyegaa

aandhii nafarat kii chalegii na kahiin ab ke baras
pyaar kii fasal ugaaegii zamiin ab ke baras

hai yahiin ab na koii shorsharaabaa hogaa
zulm hogaa na kahiin khuunkharaabaa hogaa

os aur dhuup ke sadamen na sahegaa koii
ab mere desh men beghar na rahegaa koii

naye vaadon kaa jo Daalaa hai vo jaal achchhaa hai
rahanumaaon ne kahaa hai ke ye saal achchhaa hai

Dil ke Khush rakhane ko Ghalib ye Khayaal achchhaa hai
Dil ke Khush rakhane ko Ghalib ye Khayaal achchhaa hai

A year

An year full of sleepless lonely nights , tough times and practically every single day was same but i learnt to cope with it. I always wanted my old life back because to me that was 'Perfect' but i forgot that change is a part of life. Life is what you make it, at times it is hard to handle. But if you can't handle it at worst, then sure as hell don't deserve at best."

December the 21st. Its been a year here. I m my Daddy's Princess always been pampered and protected from the truth of life. New country, city and culture was a huge change for me. Nobody was there i can rely on. Then i learnt how life works. Bubble of illusion i was living in busted. Year 2010 taught me how life works.

But still it dint feel like that its been an year here. Time is flying by. My new journey is beginning tomorrow (2nd inning). I think with all those gone months, twisted paths and new people in my life. I have founded that if you love life, life will love you always.

"What appears to be an end is really a new beginning".

Explore The Roar

"The Niagara Falls" are voluminous waterfalls on the Niagara River, straddling the international border between the Canada and the U.S. The beautiful sights of nature's own masterpiece carved into the landscape by wind, ice and water over 12,000 years along the 7 miles of the Niagara River Gorge.
It was beautiful cloudy day, sun peeking from the sky through clouds. There was high plume of mist in the air hanging over the falls. I could hear the deep roar of the falls from the parking. When i started walking towards falls, roar was much louder. The cold breeze mixed with mist tingling my face and Sea gulls walking with me

Now i was experiencing the awesome sight the Horseshoe Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls. 100,000 cubic feet of water per second rush over the edge of the Falls as waters from the Upper Great Lakes Basin empties over the 170 foot high precipice. Walking along side the falls i don't know when i reached the cruise station

I can't resist the temptation of going into Maid of the Mist( leisure boat that takes you into the falls)any more. I was in the next cruise now. As our boat cruised to the base of the Bridal Veil Falls, then to the basin of the commanding Horseshoe falls I found my heart is racing as i experience the absolute exhilaration of confronting millions of gallons of water crashing like thunder into the rocks nearby and hear the incessant roaring of Niagara.

It was afternoon well spent wished i could hang there for night to experience beauty and grandeur of the Falls. It is the timeless rumbling of the falls. You don't only look at it but listen to it as well. It's music to the ears.
